We found out the gender of our baby this morning. I was so sure it was a boy because of how different this pregnancy has been but nope, "Surprise mom and dad I'm a girl!" Hurray!

I must admit I'm a little relieved. I know that every kid is different but there has to be at least some familiarity in having a girl compared to a boy. Also, with just taking on the responsibility of a house it's comforting to know that we won't really need to buy new clothes and things which can be a big expense. A couple people have asked me if Zach is disappointed about not having a boy, no my darling husband is not afraid of being out numbered at our house. He did say if we had a bunch of girls and this was our last try for a boy he might be a little disappointed but just a little. I'm sure May is going to love having a little sister to dress up and play princess with and...maybe boss around a little. ;)

Everything looks really great. If you have talked to me in the last 20 weeks you will know that I am having some serious back pain. We found out today that it's because of where baby girl is sitting (which I kind of already assumed). But I also found out that it's actually a really good thing. I had a c-section with May and I guess if the baby grows close to the scar the placenta can attach to it and there can be some big problems.

We're excited!

  1. YAY! Love me some baby girl. The only bad part is that I guessed boy and Craig was right in saying girl. Yes, I conducted an informal poll while we were laying in bed the other night. Of course she will be adorable. CONGRATS!

  2. Awesome! It will be nice to not have to buy all new stuff for this one. I'm excited for you and your family! May will get to have a sister!
