Growing Up

Today is May's half birthday. She is 18 months already can you believe it?!? She is just growing up. I have mixed feelings about this. I'm excited to see her grow and learn new things but at the same time my baby isn't really a baby anymore.

She refuses to eat in her high chair anymore. We had to buy her a booster seat to sit at the table or else I honestly think she would have starved herself, hopefully this is the one and only time she uses the hunger strike tactic to get her way.

We moved her out of her crib and into a twin bed. Not really because she needed it but frankly I just couldn't lift her in and out of it anymore (she is more than a quarter of my size cut me break). We decided to skip the toddler bed mostly due to the fact that they are expensive and we got this twin bed for free and only had to buy the side rail. She has slept in it two nights. The first night Zach and I both laid awake just waiting to hear the thud of her falling out of bed onto her head. Not without reason she is a wild sleeper.
In her crib she would wake up and scream until you came and got her out. The first morning she screamed (like usual) and I've never seen Zach zip out of bed so fast. She was fine though, just didn't realize she could get down herself. Last night I slept but when I woke up before her this morning I freaked out thinking she had suffocated or something but she was sleeping peacefully. I went and laid back down in bed and when she woke up I heard her get down and then she came running into our room saying, "bafest bafest" which is breakfast for those of you who don't speak Maylianeese.
I made six frames like this. I know you are probably thinking, how do these all tie together? They look alright when you are standing in the room. These are my 3 favorite. There is one that I put behind the door because I hate it so it's hiding.

Ikea curtains. Not what I wanted but it'll do. I need to get a sheet and make some curtains to go underneath to darken the room but I can't decide what color to get.

May went to the last half of nursery on Sunday. She loved it. She loves singing songs. The teachers were impressed she was doing the actions her first week because a lot of the kids never do them-I know I have a smart daughter...just kidding...maybe. She kept trying to steal the other kids snacks while ignoring her own. Then they pulled the toys out and she just went to town playing with them. She didn't even care that I left, which is good, I'm glad for her sake that she isn't totally a Mama's girl but I felt so sad walking away to Relief Society. When I went and picked her up though she got a huge grin on her face and gave me a big hug. What a sweetheart.
